Rally Obedience: Novice Class

Have you and your dog mastered basic obedience skills and want to do something new and fun together?

This fast-paced introduction to Rally Obedience class is a great choice. Rally is a new canine sport in which you & your dog complete a unique sequence of obedience stations.  The stations may include areas such as sits, downs, circles, call fronts, spirals, paces, figure 8’s etc… Precision and speed count, but are more relaxed than classic obedience competitive sports.  Courses are no-impact and only require handlers to walk briskly.  Students will polish existing obedience skills, learn new ones, and improve handling techniques.  The class will cover all skills and knowledge needed for the fun challenge of entering Novice level AKC Rally events.

Requirements: All breeds / mixed breeds welcome, minimum 6 months old.  Dogs must have completed a CGC class, Basic Obedience course, or equivalent: must reliably sit, down, stay, come, potty trained, and walk nicely on handler’s left side.  Dogs may not be aggressive towards dogs or people, and will be excused from the course without refund after the first incident of uncontrolled aggression. Shots (Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella) must be up to date as well as current use of flea and tick control. The records must be presented at the first class.

Class details:  $125 for 6 weekly classes.  Classes will be between 60-90 minutes long depending on students’ needs each week. Class will be held indoors.  ***MINIMUM 8 PARTICIPANTS TO HOLD CLASS
